August 5th, 2009 – i5 Security Compliance – Carol Woodbury

An excellent presentation by Carol Woodbury about compliance with different information security laws. She used lots of examples in setting up security policies and how to adjust the i5 security settings to meet those policies. See the video posted below.

Carol has been an influence in the i5 Security Industry for many years and I’m sure most of you have read of her expertise within our community. She is a technical editor for the IBM Systems Magazine, Power Systems – IBM i edition, a co-founder of SkyView Partners, Inc., a security consulting firm and she was IBM’s chief security architect for the AS/400 for 15 years. This is definitely not one to miss. Encourage your co-workers to attend.
We are fortunate to have her visit the GSLMUG and share her insight on security compliance with us. Below is a summary of her upcoming visit.

Get a Grip on Compliance
Keeping up with the demands of the latest compliance laws and regulations can be overwhelming, regardless of the system or platform in use or applications being run. Carol Woodbury will decipher several of the laws that currently affect organizations, explaining what they meant to IT in general. She will also provide tips for interpreting them and understanding how they apply to your specific organization. Finally, Carol will provide tips for implementing the requirements within your organization and then staying in compliance.
