Session Abstract:  *NEW, *CALLER, ‘QILE’, and ‘MYACTGRP’…oh my!  It’s not quite October yet, but we’re getting there; so how about a topic that’s scary for too many RPGLE developers…ILE activation groups!  Activation groups are an important feature of ILE and using them properly is a key to getting the most out of ILE development.  Please see the following link for more information:

Bio: Charles Wilt recently relocated to Utah from southwestern Ohio to join Dealertrack, Inc. as a Sr. Software Engineer.   He has a BS in Computer Science and started his programming career in COBOL on Honeywell  DPS 6 systems in 1991.  In 1996, he started working with his first AS/400, a RISC box running v3r6 running an application written in RPGIII; but it didn’t take him long to find out about RPGIV and SQL. Charles has never written a cycle program, though he’s sure he must have maintained one somewhere.   Today, Charles’ expertise includes  fully-free RPG, modular coding, web services using RPG, and advanced SQL .

Special thanks to Maxava (Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, & High Availability Software for the IBM i) for their generous contributions and support of the UIIPA membership.
